# System Share

System Share lets you send content from another app into Octoclip without first copying it through the system clipboard.

## When to use it

Use System Share when:

- copying is not available or loses formatting;
- you want to save a link, image, or file into Octoclip;
- mobile background clipboard access is limited;
- you want a deliberate, user-triggered capture path.

## Platform notes

Share sheets differ by platform and app. Some apps send only a URL, some send rich text, and some send a file or image. If a shared item looks incomplete, test with a simpler source app and compare the payload.

## Troubleshooting

1. Confirm Octoclip appears in the system share sheet.
2. Share a short text or URL first.
3. Check whether the item appears in Clip History.
4. If the payload is incomplete, test a different source app.
5. If Octoclip does not appear, reinstall or check whether the platform disabled the share extension.
