# Local data

Clip history and settings are stored locally on your device within the application's sandboxed directory. On supported platforms the app uses platform-provided data protection to reduce the risk of access by other third-party applications.

## What to do

- Review history size / cleanup settings in-app.  
- Before uninstall or migration, read [Backup and restore](/features/data-security/backup).
