    Notifications

Notifications help Octoclip show background capture, sync transfer, and permission state. They are also useful during troubleshooting because they tell you whether the app is still running.

    Common notification types

    • Background monitoring or service status on Android.
    • Sync progress or transfer completion.
    • Permission reminders when a required platform permission is missing.
    • Failure or retry notices for sync tasks.

    Platform limits

Mobile systems may delay, collapse, or suppress notifications. Some Android vendors also restrict background services when battery optimization is enabled. If capture or sync stops after the screen is locked, check notification permission and battery settings together.

    Troubleshooting

    1. Confirm system notification permission is allowed.
    2. Confirm Octoclip is not silenced by Focus / Do Not Disturb / notification categories.
    3. On Android, check battery optimization and foreground service behavior.
    4. Reproduce with a short text clip and watch whether a sync or background notification appears.
